COOPERATIVE OMBUDSMAN

  • Following the amendment to the Multi – State Cooperative Societies (MSCS) Act, 2002, Cooperative Ombudsman has been appointed u/s 85A of the said Act vide gazette notification dated 05.03.2024
  • The Ombudsman will consider the following categories of Complaints or Appeals, from members of the MSCS, as the case may be: -

    Complaints by Members

    a)  Complaints by members regarding their deposits, equitable benefits of the Multi – State Co-operative Society’s functioning or any other issue affecting the individual rights of the concerned member.


    Appeal against the order of Cooperative Information Officer:

    a)  Appeals preferred under sub-section (4) of Section 106, by members against the order passed by the Co-operative Information Officer.


  • How to file a Complaint
  • Member shall file the complaint to Cooperative Ombudsman in Form VI prescribed under rule 30H(2) of MSCS Rules, 2002 after fulfilling all the necessary conditions stated therein. Complete information along with relevant documents as asked for in Form VI should be provided.

  • How to file an Appeal
  • Member can file an appeal against the rejection of his application by the Cooperative Information Officer in Form VII within a period of one month from the date of such rejection, before the Cooperative Ombudsman.
